Various Local Calendars are in use, usually setting year 0 as the year the colony in question was founded. The original Earth Calendar AD based calendar is rarely encountered, although Earth Years themselves are still accepted as the standard. The most widely used calendar is based on year 0 as being the year of the planetoid impact on Earth. Years are measured as being 'After Impact' or AI for short.
