Kruger (Kruger 60)
Binary star system linked to Troy (DM-39 14192) by a stable wormhole. It is 13.14 light-years from Sol. Its scientific name is Kruger 60. The inhabitants of this system call themselves Krugans. Kruger is a second wave colony and was colonised in 133 AI (2458 AD) from Troy. The system is a mining colony and miners work on all of Kruger's eight planets (Chrome, Sinai, Jade and Rim orbit Kruger 60-A and Magneto, Decker, Polar and Before orbit Kruger 60-B). Chrome is the only planet that is at all habitable. The Troy Wormhole was discovered in 132 AI (2346 AD) by scientists using a ship borrowed from the Eastern Mining Company. The Trojan Exploration Corporation was set up to explore the wormhole and travelled through it, then surveyed the Kruger system. In 133 AI (2346 AD) the Trojan government sold the mining rights to the Kruger system to the Eastern Mining Company. In 153 AI (2369 AD) the Eastern Mining Company started a farming colony and constructed a Trojan Navy base on Chrome. At the end of the First Interstellar War there was fear that the Kruger system would be attacked and the Trojan government created the Trojan Territorial Navy in 176 AI (2392 AD) to help the Trojan Navy protect the system and the wormhole. The following year Troy formalised a trading alliance it had with eight local colonies and created the The 9 Star Combine (a name it has kept despite having expanded beyond the original membership): Kruger became a member of this newly formed power bloc.
