Collective name for the largest four of the Jovian Moons, the
moons orbiting the planet Jupiter
(Sol 5). The Galilean Satellites are: Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto.
One of the three developments of wormhole technology
with two applications. The first is the
contra-grav thruster
(CGT), which is mainly used as a
spaceship drive. A starship
sized CGT, is incredibly efficient, but
dropship or shuttle sized
CGTs are less efficient. Man sized contra-grav devices, can be made, but are so
inefficient they are unable to lift their own weight. The second application of gravity manipulation is
inertial dampers, which provides the crew and
passengers of spaceships with
artificial gravity and also protects them from the
forces associated with sudden changes in acceleration.
