MERC BUREAU CONTRACT

Preamble - This contract is arbitrated by the Merc Bureau. All parties are reminded that the Bureau reserves the right to penalise any party considered to be deliberately nonconforming to this agreement. All parties are reminded that the Bureau has several sanctions available to it, up to and including blacklisting.

'The Client' - Shall remain anonymous until mission commencement. The unit is assured by the Bureau that the client is bona fide , and that the theatre of operations is operating under the normal rules of war. The client is being represented by the legal company 'Advocates Unlimited' in these proceedings, who will be referred to as 'The Agents'.

'The Unit' - Shall consist of a squad of ground troops, represented by: Andrew Price, The unit shall undergo DNA identification before deployment.


The Mission - General

Environment: Is near Standard, no protective devices are required.

Support: Except as noted below, the unit will be responsible for all of its logistic support. Whilst the clients may be able to supply additional support during the initial mission period, it is emphasised that this is not a contractual comittment and is at the discretion of the clients and solely dependant upon the circumstances at the time. The Unit should make arrangements for medical and aerospace support.

Duration: Mission time is intended to be a maximum of 9 hours. In the event that additional mission time is required, the clients shall have the right to require the unit to remain in theatre for additional time, however in that event the clients shall assume responsibility for the units logistic support, and additional payments shall be made according to the payments schedule (see below).

Transportation to the theatre. The location of the theatre shall remain secret until contract signature. The clients will be responsible for transporting the unit to the planet in question. If any of the units logistic support is unable to extend to the theatre, the clients will assume responsibility for arranging alternative equivalent support, any extra costs for such support shall be met by the clients.

Date of mission: Shall remain classified, with the unit remaining on in transit or on standby for a maximum of 20 days, at a pay rate specified in the payments schedule (see below).


The Mission - Objectives

  1. Consignment Delivery. The unit shall gaurantee to deliver 2 consignments, arranged by the Agents, to the clients. The location for such deliveries shall be specified by the agents after contract signature. The contents of the consignments shall remain secret, other than as can be determined by their outwards appearance, from the unit. The size and weight of the consignments is such that they are easily portable by an infantry squad. Should either consignment not be delivered, the clients reserve the right to terminate the contract. In that event, should either consignment not be returned to the Agents, penalty payments shall be made by the unit to the Agents as specified in the payments schedule.
  2. After stage 1 is complete, the unit shall assist the clients during an assault on a target belonging to a third party. The unit will be responsible for defending the clients from the forces of the third party during the preparations for the assault.
  3. Once the clients forces are in position, the unit shall launch a diversionary attack on a gaurd post near the perimeter of the objective. The unit will be required to attack with sufficient vigor to cause extra defenders to be dispatched, and the unit shall keep the gaurd post under fire for a period of not less than 15 minutes. This will complete the contractual obligations, however a bonus, as specified in the payments schedule, shall be payable if the unit then neutralises the gaurd post by killing or capturing all of its defenders, note that the Clients will require the unit to act in accordance with the normal rules of war in this event.

Payments Schedule

Basic Contract Pay: 9SC*4,000 per person.
Transit / Standby Pay: 9SC* 50 per person per day.
Extra time in Theatre: 9SC* 500 per person per hour or part therof.
Bonus - Neutralise Gaurd Post: 9SC* 20,000.
Penalty Payment, Consignment 1: 9SC* 50,000.
Penalty Payment, Consignment 2: 9SC* 200,000.
