Midway Awarded Grant to Assist With Disability Football Section
The Burton Brewers Trust have been kind enough to award the Club with 1.5k in order to help
fund the disabled football section which will help us purchase equipment for these sessions.
This is a much needed cash injection that helps us with the expenses that come with the setting up
of the sessions.

A link to any news coming out of these meetings has been created to the left. Newsletters from
the group will also be attached on this page and hopefully once they have a website a link

Press Release March 2008
Midway Football Club are in the process of setting up a disability section of their
football club. A 6 week block of coaching sessions for disabled young people will begin
on Thursday 24th April 5.30-6.30pm at Pingle school. Already a Charter Standard club
Midway are keen to progress the opportunities they offer for their local community and
as such have seen setting up a disability team as the next stage in the clubs
development. Ian Davies, Club Secretary said 'With sections in place for juniors, men
and women the next progression for us to offer football to all people in the community
was for us to start this program. Hopefully we can offer football to those who have not
previously been given a chance.'

Disability section, South Derbyshire School Sports Partnership and South Derbyshire
District Council are supporting the project in a bid to give more young disabled people
the opportunity to train and play football in the district. They have been successful
in being awarded a grant by the Burton Brewers Trust to help them get the scheme off
the ground but anyone else willing to assist with funding would be welcome
