In 1941, I was born in Berlin - Schöneberg without anybody asking me whether I
wanted to or not. I spent my childhood with the other street-kids in bombed out
Berlin, which we considered to be a giant adventure playground. This is also
where I had my first experiences with art. Further influences came from the
sculptor Joseph A dlerstein
and the two women who shared his life and also from my father, who formed my
taste for the arts, theatre and prose. As if this wasn't enough, my mother
spoilt me with her good food and warm heart. Even though school started with
little promise, it was finished quite successfully in the end. The penny dropped
a little later. I spent a large part of my life on an unfinished
hairdressing-apprenticeship, studying at the Music Academy in Berlin, completing
an apprenticeship as an electrician, seafaring, studying social-work, studying
educational sciences and twenty years of monitoring and consulting work at the
Institute for the Support and Advancement of Education in Schools in Berlin.
Alongside I also pursued my studies of art and gained practical experience in
painting. Between 1991 until 2006 I spent my time between Berlin and the South
of France. Now I live in Berlin and Priort painting and turning scrap-metal into
sculptures. I am a member of "MalArt Berlin", a
group of artists.1941,
