BILLY IDOL: VH1 STORYTELLERS
This isn't a full-scale review. More in point form about what I noted; what I liked and disliked.
The Good:
Billy sharing the origin/meanings of his songs. It was actually quite interesting hearing about the birth of his songs.
Atmosphere. The crowd were loving Billy as he was enjoying being there with them.
The stories he told, they were hilarious. I didn't know Billy was such a comedian!. My favourite stories (or one of them) was the 'Flesh For Fantasy' story.
"..get the camera away from his bollocks, for God's sake!"
The Bad:
Stella Soleil. I wasn't too pleased with her performance. Most times, I couldn't even hear her sing.
This is not to say she doesn't have a nice voice, but I think they should've found someone else with stronger vocals.
A few disastrous camera shots occurring throughout the segment.
The Things To Ponder:
Where was 'Speed'? (Or 'Shock To The System' for that matter?)
Billy fidgets a LOT
The DVD launches straight into Billy performing 'Cradle Of Love'.
No introduction, nothing.
Being from Australia, I don't get VH1. I've been told, and have read there was a fan Q & A session and other extra segments. Where are they?
Did we all spot Carole (billyidol.com administrator) in the audience? (Complete with the signature glove)
