Alright, I'm a new member of the BI board, but not a new Billy fan! Been a fan for many, many years! Anyways, I thought I'd share my Idol experience with the rest of the Billy fans! Here goes:
I'm still starstrucked.....I cannot believe what happened. LOL Billy Idol's back...and oh man, he's looking better than ever. I'm quite a huge fan of Billy Idol, so when I heard Billy Idol was doing a promotion tour in Canada for his upcoming album, "Devil's Playground", I made sure I had the opportunity to meet him! He was down at my favourite "walk-in" radio station, 102.1 The Edge, yesterday (Jan. 25) at 4:20pm.
I got two of my friends who also love Billy Idol to come with me.
Anyways, we finally arrived at the radio station and we were basically front row. No seats, all standing up...kinda like general admission. It's absolutely free. You can just walk in and watch the interview. There must have been over 60 people in the room! Finally, he walked in...everyone shrieked and yelled out "BILLYYYYYYYYYYY!" He signed my Generation X vinyl (his old band) and my Billy Idol greatest hits CD. LOL I was quite in awe with how he signed my Generation X vinyl because it looked like he signed "Lisa"...it's a bunch of scribbles since he was in a hurry to get to everyone else.
LOL When he was in front of me I told him, "Billy, you SO totally ROCK!" (Alright, I'm well aware that was extremely corny. LOL! But it sure made him smile!...speaking of which, he has the most beautiful smile...)
He got to do his interview and they played his new single, "Scream" on-air. He began to PASSIONATELY sing along and dance in his "Billy Idol" way. He's VERY energetic!! LOL He got up from his seat and continued to sing along and danced his way up to me. Since he was in quite an excited mood, he looked at me, smiled...grabbed my face, pulled me near him, said in his British accent, "How are ya, love?!" and pecked me on the cheek!!! Needless to say, I pecked him back. LOL It was the most wonderful feeling. And might I add, he smells really good and has such soft skin. I can still feel his hands on my face.
LOL I had my vinyl out and he asked, "Do you want me to sign that for you, dear? OH! I already did!" Then I told him about the whole "Lisa" thing...and he asked, "Aw! Do you want me to sign it for you again?" I said, "Yes, please!" But he was then interrupted, so I didn't get him to sign it again. LOL In the meantime, he signed some more autographs and then went back on-air to finish his interview.
Billy also got a kick out of what my friend made him sign. LOL My guy friend didn't have anything by Billy Idol to sign, so he grabbed a magazine from the magazine stand at the radio station and took out the adult section. Basically, this sheet from the newspaper had a bunch of ads for strip clubs and other sexual pleasure hotlines. LOL There were definitely a lot of naked women on it.
Anyways, by the time Billy got to sign it, Billy had the funniest expression on his face! LOL He was like..."OOOOOOOOOH! " HAHAHA.
Oh man. I woke up with the biggest smile on my face. I mean..come on....WHO ELSE CAN SAY BILLY IDOL KISSED THEM?! LOL I ended up starting a trend...before he left a bunch of women asked him if they could kiss him. LOL I didn't have to ask! He just willingly did it! It was definitely random. LOL He was so excited. *sigh* He's so gorgeous!
49-years-old...and he's just....simply....amazing. He hasn't changed a bit. And, of course, I went picture crazy. I even managed to snap a picture of him before he grabbed me. LOL He has his hands up in the air. Not the greatest picture of him, but it was right before he kissed me and that's all that matters! LOL
