Book/Movie of the Month: The
Claiming of Sleeping Beauty Very
loosely based on the traditional fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty, this
series was a wonderful gem from Anne Rice. A little more extreme than your
normal erotica, this work could possibly be described as slight
pornography (even by the more liberal among us). The Beauty Series would
have particular (perhaps primary) appeal to those with an interest BDSM.
Beauty, our heroine of the story (a beautiful princess) is forced into
servitude as a sex slave/ tribute. This turns out to be a role which
Beauty excels in and through out the novel and series Beauty strives to
achieve perfection through great degradation and humiliation. And always
there is the search for the perfect lover and perfect love. For Most .. I
would recommended bedtime reading only - any other time (ex. on the bus,
on your lunch break, in the doctor's waiting room) might be uncomfortable.
;) I loved
this book and have re-read it numerous times. It has got to my one of my
favorite books of all time! Each time I read it I love it even more! The
Claiming of Sleeping Beauty:
Anne Rice writing as A. N. Roquelaure. In the traditional folk tale
"Sleeping Beauty," the spell cast upon the lovely young princess
and everyone in her castle can only be broken by the kiss of a Prince.
Anne Rice's retelling of the Beauty story probes the unspoken implications
of this lush, suggestive tale by exploring its undeniable connection to
sexual desire. Beauty's
Punishment:
This sequel to The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty, the first of Anne
Rice's elegantly written volumes of erotica, continues her explicit,
teasing exploration of the psychology of human desire. Beauty, having
indulged in a secret and forbidden infatuation with the rebellious slave
Prince Tristan, is sent away from the Satyricon-like world of the castle.
Once again Rice's fabulous tale of pleasure and pain dares to explore the
most primal and well-hidden desires of the human heart. Beauty's
Release:
In the final volume of Anne Rice's deliciously tantalizing erotic trilogy,
Beauty's adventures on the dark side of sexuality make her the bound
captive of an Eastern Sultan and a prisoner in the exotic confines of the
harem. In Beauty's Release, Anne Rice makes the forbidden side of
passion a doorway into the hidden regions of the psyche and the heart. Favorite

Favorite Actor :
Julian McMahon

Julian McMahon is a great
Actor. I can remember tuning in to the Profiler just to see his beautiful
green eyes. By accident I saw an episode of Charmed where he played the
character Cole and I was hooked. I am sad he is no longer on the show as he
made it worth watching. I was fascinated by his character. I have heard he
is on a show running now called Nip and Tuck but I have yet to see it.
Julian is indeed a most attractive and hot guy in my book! There is
something about this Tall, Dark haired, Green eyed man! He is Australian but
I have yet to hear his accent. Every time I see him acting he is speaking
with an American accent. I can imagine that his real accent is most
fantastic. Oh man! Me and my accents, every single one of my favorite actors
(as you will see) has an accent, Australian, Irish and English. They just do
it for me! MAN!

Mini biography
Julian McMahon was the second of three children. He studied law at the
University of Sydney, but he became bored with his classes after his first
year and began a career in modeling, working primarily in commercials. In
1987, he headed off for print modeling assignments in Los Angeles, New York,
Milan, Rome, Paris, and other international fashion centers. His appearance
in a
TV commercial
promoting jeans in his home country made him popular enough to be cast as
the lead in an Australian "Dynasty"-like series, in which he played a
wealthy heir. After working for 18 months on the series, he starred in
"Home and Away" (1988), another successful
series, where he won a best actor
award
from a national magazine.
McMahon later performed on stage, appearing in a musical version of "Home
and Away" in Britain as well as in "Love Letters" in Sydney and Melbourne.
After a lead role in the feature film
Wet and
Wild Summer! (1992) (which also starred
Elliott Gould), he went to Los Angeles to
read for American projects.
In 1992, he was cast as Ian Rain on NBC's daytime drama
"Another
World" (1964). Two years later, he left to
appear in various plays in Los Angeles. He also appeared in the feature
films "Women in Control" and "Magenta" (1996) before landing his role on
"Profiler" (1996).
In his free time, McMahon enjoys surfing, biking, and "cooking anything"
(especially roasts, pastas and ethnic cuisine). He is a fan of baseball,
football and basketball, and he collects classic books.

Sand In
My Shoes (
Dido )
two weeks away feels like the whole world
should have changed
but i'm home now, and things still look the same
i think i'll leave it till tomorrow to unpack, try to forget for one more
night
that i'm back in my flat
on the road where the cars never stop going through the night
to a life where i can't watch the sun set, i don't have time, i don't have
time
i've still got sand in my shoes and i can't shake the thought of you
i should get on, forget you but why would i want to
i know we said goodbye, anything else would have been confused
but i want to see you again
tomorrow's back to work and down to sanity
should run a bath and then clear up the mess i made before i left here
try to remind myself that i was happy before i knew that i could get
on a plane and fly away
from the road where the cars never stop going through the night
to a life where i can watch the sun set and take my time, take all our time
two weeks away, all it takes, to change and turn me around i've fallen
i walked away, and never said, that i wanted to see you again
i've still got sand in my shoes and i can't shake the thought of you
i should get on, forget you but why would i want to
i know we said goodbye, anything else would have been confused
but i want to see you again
